| Mench makes return to majors: The Nationals promoted OF Kevin Mench from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday. He will take the roster spot of Nyjer Morgan (hip), who was placed on the 15-day disabled list. Mench has played in seven major league seasons and last appeared in the big leagues with Toronto in 2008. The 32-year-old played in Japan in 2009 and hit .249 with three homers and 40 RBI with Syracuse this year. (Updated 08/06/2010) |

| Even if Mench gets a fair amount of playing time, he has not been a reliable source of power since 2005. He also does not have a good track record of hitting for average or getting on base, so he offers little in Fantasy, other than as a flier for owners in deeper NL-only leagues.
