Astros' Will Harris: Tallies 12th save of season in Friday win
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Harris notched his 12th save in Friday's 5-3 victory over the Blue Jays, giving up a run in a one-inning stint.

The Astros' closer yielded a solo shot to Edwin Encarnacion, but otherwise escaped the inning unscathed for his first save since July 27. Harris has struggled in recent appearances, blowing two consecutive save opportunities since that date while also being credited with a hold. The 31-year-old is now 12-for-15 in save chances and has 17 holds to his credit in 2016.

Astros' Will Harris: Cleaning up in closer role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Harris struck out two in a perfect ninth for his 11th save Wednesday against the Yankees.

Thanks to a four-run disaster against Oakland prior to the All-Star break, Harris still owns a not-so-hot 3.91 ERA since taking over as the Astros' closer, but he's also 11-for-12 in save chances in the midst of his second straight season as one of baseball's top relief aces. In fact, he's actually improved on last year's 1.90 ERA, as his 2016 figure's now down to 1.71 following Wednesday's save. Harris isn't giving up this job anytime soon.

Astros' Will Harris: Rebounds from previous outing with 10th save
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Harris picked up his 10th save of the season Friday versus the Angels. He gave up a hit and struck out one.

Harris blew his first save of the season in his last outing, but he got back on track by preserving the one-run lead and putting the finishing touches on a 2-1 victory. However, the 31-year-old right-hander did give up a hit for the eighth time in his last 10 appearances, and his 16th overall during that stretch. The closer role in Houston is a bit muddy, so Harris can't afford to continue skating on thin ice. But, as long as he's getting the job done at this rate (90 percent), then he'll continue getting the work.

Astros' Will Harris: Blows first save against Athletics
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Harris blew his first save of the season as he allowed a run on two hits in an eventual extra-innings loss Tuesday to the Athletics.

Harris finally blew a save after nine straight conversions to open his time as Houston's closer. He actually owns a 4.40 ERA since taking over the closer's role June 5, but four of those runs came in an appearance in a blowout win July 8 -- Harris actually "earned" a hold in that outing. Tuesday's appearance marked his third earned run allowed in 10 save situations as closer, good for a 2.70 ERA.

Astros' Will Harris: Saves ninth game against Mariners
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Harris struck out two and worked around a hit to nail down his ninth save in Tuesday's win over Seattle.

Harris made his first All-Star team and it's hard to argue with his inclusion despite his late ascent to the closer's role. Tuesday's effort lowered his ERA to 0.72 and he now owns a brilliant 38:6 K:BB in 37 innings. Harris showed signs of major talent last year, when he posted a 1.90 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 71 innings, but the 31-year-old has reached a new level this year.
