Twins' Tyler Jay: Ailment revealed to be biceps tendinitis
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jay is dealing with biceps tendinitis, LaVelle Neal of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports.

The pitching prospect landed on the disabled list April 9, but the problem that sent him there just became clear. However, a timetable for his return still hasn't been disclosed, so Jay's status will be worth monitoring over the next couple weeks.

Twins' Tyler Jay: Dealing with injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jay will miss approximately one month with an undisclosed injury, Chris Blessing of Baseball HQ reports.

There's no information regarding Jay's ailment at this point in time. Once healthy, he'll continue pitching at Double-A Chattanooga, where he allowed 10 runs over 14 innings (five games) in 2016.

Twins' Tyler Jay: Moving to the bullpen
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jay will be permanently moved to the bullpen, Twins farm director Brad Steil told the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Jay missed the final month of last season with a strained neck and shoulder fatigue. The 2015 first-round draft pick moved to the rotation from the bullpen last year with strong signs of success. He had a 2.84 ERA and 68:21 K:BB in 69.2 innings over 13 starts at High-A Fort Myers. However, it sounds like worries over his health may limit him to the bullpen. His fantasy value takes a large hit as a result, as he'd be more valuable as a starting pitcher.

Twins' Tyler Jay: Hurls bullpen session Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jay (neck) pitched a bullpen session Wednesday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

The severity of the former first-rounder's ailment was formerly pretty murky, but it seems like Jay is steadily working his way toward game action. It's unclear when those innings will come, but that should become clear as Jay works out more in the coming days.

Twins' Tyler Jay: Placed on DL with neck strain
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Jay has been placed on the minor league DL with a shoulder/neck injury, MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger reports.

The DL reason is listed as a "neck strain," but the team acknowledges that the injury is also related to his shoulder, so it's hard to get a good gauge as to how serious the issue is. He had recently been moved to the bullpen for the rest of the season with Double-A Chattanooga in an effort to manage his workload. There were concerns when the Twins drafted Jay about his ability to hold up to a starter's workload, and while he was excellent in that role earlier this season, it's possible that this injury confirms those doubts. Continue to monitor his status over the coming weeks for more detailed information regarding the severity of the injury.
