| Rauch picks up first save : Mets reliever Jon Rauch picked up his first save of the season during Tuesday night's contest against the Phillies. Rauch came on in the ninth inning of the 7-4 win and retired three of the four batters he faced. He was able to pitch around a one-out single to Juan Pierre and needed only 16 pitches to close out the victory. He is now 1 for 3 in save chances on the year. (Updated 05/08/2012) |

| Frank Francisco was unavailable for the Mets on Tuesday after pitching three days in a row, which gave Rauch a chance to close out the win. The veteran responded pretty well, but will be moved right back into his setup role moving forward. While he could see a few more save chances down the line, his value will remain that of a low-end NL-only option in his current role. Continue to view him as such moving forward.
