| Knee keeps Hafner sidelined: Cleveland designated hitter Travis Hafner was held out of the starting lineup again for Friday's game at the White Sox due to what has been re-diagnosed as a knee injury. Hafner was also out of the lineup Thursday after fouling a pitch off his leg during Wednesday's game. Shelley Duncan served as the Indians' designated hitter. Multiple sources are reporting that Hafner stayed in Cleveland to receive treatment on the injury, and he is not expected to play in the weekend series in Chicago. He reportedly is suffering from a meniscus injury in his right knee, and received a cortisone shot on Thursday. (Updated 05/25/2012) |

| Hafner is considered day to day with the issue after his knee swelled up during Wednesday's contest and forced him to the bench the past two games. It looks like he will not be available until Monday, now, making him a risky start for Week 9 (May 28-June 3). The 34-year-old has driven in four runs over his past two games while maintaining his standings as a strong on-base threat.
