Meche has a 4.32 ERA over his last three starts, so he hasn't buried you even if he has struggled lately. Still, he isn't showing much control right now and can't expect the Royals offense to bail him out if he gets in trouble. He has the upside to start in mixed leagues, but he's more a guy to stash on your bench right now. His next start and second of Fantasy Week 14 (July 6-12) is scheduled for Saturday at Boston.

Meche, whose "dead arm" the previous two starts had created concern among the Royals, immediately showed regained velocity, striking out Justin Morneau in the first inning with a 98 mph fastball. "I was still throwing in the mid-90s," said Meche. "I tried to squeeze out that sixth inning and just couldn't get (Joe) Mauer to finish the inning.''
