Dodgers' Adrian Gonzalez: Weeks away from rehab assignment
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gonzalez (back) is still a few weeks away from beginning a rehab assignment according to manager Dave Roberts, but he will be able to take batting practice with the club next weekend, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Gonzalez has been able to take swings off a tee for the past few days and is expecting to take about 70 more cuts in Los Angeles on Sunday. The first baseman was able to run on the field Saturday and is slowly progressing from a back ailment that has cost him a full month of action at this point. Roberts also stated that Gonzalez should be able to run the bases once the team returns from their road trip Thursday, but Gonzalez is still a couple weeks from being able to head down to the minors for some tune-ups.

Dodgers' Adrian Gonzalez: Taking more swings Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gonzalez (back) will hit off a tee again Saturday, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.

This marks Gonzalez's second straight day of swinging a bat as he continues to work his way back from a nagging back issue. If Gonzalez is able to get through Saturday's session without any setbacks, the Dodgers could move him to the live batting practice stage of the rehab process. Still, it appears that Gonzalez is at least few weeks away from coming off the disabled list.

Dodgers' Adrian Gonzalez: Swings bat Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gonzalez was able to take 40 cuts prior to Friday's game, with 20 coming off a tee, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Gonzalez has been out for almost a month now with herniated disks in his back. This marked the first sign of rehab for the first baseman, and he will slowly but surely ramp up his efforts over the next month to make his return to the diamond. There has yet to be a clear timetable for Gonzalez, but he will likely be out until at least mid-August while Cody Bellinger continues to hold down the position in his absence.

Dodgers' Adrian Gonzalez: Could be sidelined through mid-August
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gonzalez (back) is expected to remain on the 10-day disabled list until mid-August, Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times reports. "I know that if I'm healthy, I can go out and do really good things on the field," Gonzalez said Monday. "If I'm not, I can't."

Gonzalez has been sidelined for the last three weeks with herniated disks in his back and is still undecided on how he'll go about rehabbing the injury. He's been receiving injections to address the pain he's experiencing in his back, and though the Dodgers won't be able to pinpoint a potential date for his return until he resumes on-field activity, Gonzalez said that he expects to be activated by September, regardless of how he feels. The veteran first baseman, who has acknowledged that he could walk away from the game after the season if his condition doesn't show much improvement, will likely settle into a part-time role once he returns from the DL, as stud rookie Cody Bellinger has been a more-than-capable option at the position while Gonzalez has missed time.

Dodgers' Adrian Gonzalez: Out until after All-Star break
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Gonzalez (back) hasn't started baseball activities yet and will not return until after the All-Star break, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Gonzalez has already missed the better half of June with a herniated disc, but has been receiving injections as part of his recovery program. Nonetheless, manager Dave Roberts says the veteran slugger still isn't where he wants to be in terms of rehabilitation and the team won't rush him back into action. Cody Bellinger will continue seeing the majority of starts at first base in his absence.
