| Jacobs banned 50 games due to HGH: Major League Baseball announced on Thursday that Rockies 1B Mike Jacobs tested positive for Human Growth Hormone and has been suspended for 50 games. Jacobs was hitting .298 with 23 home runs and 97 RBI for Triple-A Colorado Springs. The Rockies announced that they released Jacobs following the suspension. (Updated 08/18/2011) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
| Jacobs, a former Mets top prospect, has not played in the majors this season. He appeared in just seven games after returning to the Mets organization last season. He hit just .228 for the Royals in his last full season in 2009, contributing 19 homers and 61 RBI. His best overall season came in 2008 with the Marlins, when he finished with 32 homers and 93 RBI. Jacobs will find his road back to the majors a lot tougher as a result of this suspension. (Updated 08/18/2011). |
