Mets' Jose Reyes: Will join Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Reyes is expected to move to Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday, Matt Ehalt of The Record reports.

Reyes is currently at the rookie level as the Mets try to ease him back into the swing of things. He will likely play a few games at the Double-A and Triple-A levels before potentially being called up to join the Mets.

Mets' Jose Reyes: To transfer to Double or Triple-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Reyes will play one more game at short-season Brooklyn on Monday before transferring to either Double or Triple-A, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Reyes officially rejoined the Mets over the weekend, and at this point he appears to be on an expedited path back to the major leagues. Reyes will likely play in a handful of games at the next level before a potential recall, however, and it's unclear where, exactly, he'd fit in with the Mets. There's been talk that he could fill in at third base with David Wright (neck) on the DL, though Reyes has never played the position in his 13-year career.

Mets' Jose Reyes: Signs minors deal with Mets
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Reyes signed a minor league contract with the Mets on Saturday, Maria Guardado of the Star-Ledger reports.

A reunion appeared increasingly likely as the week progressed and the Mets have indeed brought Reyes back into the fold after his departure from Colorado. Reyes, who spent his first nine seasons in New York, will join short-season Brooklyn for the time being. There has been talk that he will be prepared for a role at third base, a position he's never played in 13 years at the major league level.

Rockies' Jose Reyes: Could join Mets this weekend
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

According to Newsday, "all signs are pointing toward" Reyes signing with the Mets once he's officially released by the Rockies.

Apparently, Reyes could join New York as soon as this weekend as there has been mutual interest between the two parties, and the idea of bringing Reyes in "has only continued to gain steam within the organization." Reyes comes with plenty of baggage and his on-field ability has fallen off dramatically in recent years, but the Mets are really hurting for offense (they're dead last in baseball in runs scored this month) and can bring Reyes aboard at the major league minimum. There's even some talk Reyes could supplant Curtis Granderson atop the order given his speed and track record of getting on base at a useful clip.

Rockies' Jose Reyes: Expected to be released
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Rockies requested waivers for Reyes on Thursday with the intention of granting his unconditional release.

With this move, Reyes will now officially become a free agent after the 48-hour window expires Saturday. After serving his two-month long suspension and still carrying the weight of his hefty contract, Reyes unsurprisingly went unclaimed on waivers and the Rockies were unable to find a suitable trade partner. The 33-year-old should generate some interest as a free agent though, and could latch on to a major league roster one again sooner rather than later.
