Laird has rare good day at plate: From The Sports Xchange: C Gerald Laird hasn't had much to cheer about with his offense this season, but he has heard no criticism on that from his manager. And Sunday Laird contributed one of his better offensive days of the season with a pair of RBI singles. The first was in the second inning and put Detroit ahead, 1-0. The second came while Detroit was scoring three times in the third to take a 4-0 lead.
