| Giants pick up Foppert again: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the Giants have re-signed pitcher Jesse Foppert to a minor-league deal, and have assigned him to Triple-A Fresno. Foppert was released by the Mariners and is still attempting to come back fully from the Tommy John surgery he had in 2003. (Updated 03/23/2007) |

| Foppert pitched in Seattle's minor-league system last season, going 0-1 with a 6.95 ERA at Triple-A Tacoma, but spent most of the season on the DL. He came to Seattle as part of a 2005 trade that sent Randy Winn to San Francisco, but was released by Seattle after the season. He is a former top prospect who has struggled to rebound from surgery.
