| Alfonzo positive for PEDs again: CBSSports.com Senior Baseball Writer Danny Knobler reports that Rockies backup C Eliezer Alfonzo has been leveled with a 100-game suspension for testing positive for an unnamed performance enhancing substance. Alfonzo received his first suspension for a positive drug test in 2008, when he was a member of the Giants. Alfonzo denied taking any banned drugs, and he plans to fight the ruling, but he has to start serving the suspension immediately. Manny Ramirez is the only other major league player to be handed a 100-game suspension for a positive drug test. (Updated 09/14/2011) |
