  • Johnson shakes off hammy injury: Blue Jays second baseman Kelly Johnson remained in the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Rangers after leaving his previous contest due to tightness in his left hamstring. Johnson went 1 for 3 before being replaced by Omar Vizquel in the 14-3 loss. “(Johnson) has some inflammation around the tendon, but (doctors) don’t anticipate anything further than that,” manager John Farrell told the Toronto Star after receiving the results of Johnson's MRI.

    Fantasy Analysis
Johnson has been able to pick up his average this month but has been struggling of late, going just 5 for 28 (.179) in his last eight games. Luckily this hamstring injury does not appear to be serious but keep an eye on his progress over the weekend as Farrell said Johnson will likely sit out Saturday. Johnson has the potential to be a 20-20 performer and should be considered a viable option in most Fantasy formats heading into Week 9 (May 28-June 3).
