| Mathis helps save bullpen: Blue Jays catcher Jeff Mathis was needed to pitch in Friday's blowout loss to the Rangers. He entered in the eighth inning with his team trailing by 11 and while he gave up a leadoff double, the right-hander was able to strand the runner. Mathis was the only Toronto pitcher not to allow a run in the 14-3 loss. (Updated 05/26/2012) |
