Red Sox's Mike Napoli homers, drives in four runs vs. Angels
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Red Sox first baseman Mike Napoli went 2 for 3 with a walk, a home run and four RBI in his team's 6-1 win over the Angels on Sunday.

Napoli demolished Angels pitching during the series, going 5 for 9 with four home runs and eight RBI in his last three games. Sunday's damage came on a two-run home run in the second inning to put the Red Sox on the board and a two-run double in the eighth.

"I've been there before and I've been in slumps in my career," Napoli said to WEEI.com. "I know I am just swing, one at-bat away from feeling good. I kept grinding. I wasn't going to give up. I knew I was struggling, but I kept at it and worked with Chili [Davis]. Got some good info from [Dustin Pedroia] and things have been going good since then."

Napoli has hit .203/.304/.420 with eight home runs and 21 RBI in 138 at-bats.

Red Sox 1B Mike Napoli blasts two home runs in win on Saturday
by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com

Red Sox first baseman Mike Napoli went 2 for 4 at the plate in Boston's 8-3 win over the Angels on Saturday.

Napoli ripped a solo home run over the Green Monster in the second inning off of C.J. Wilson. Then in the sixth, Napoli did the same thing when he belted a two-run shot off of Wilson, his seventh of the season.

"I feel pretty good," said Napoli to MLB.com. "This is a time where I have to maintain what I'm doing right now in the cage and in my BP. I know where my hands have to get. You know, it's a good feeling to go in there and be able to compete and not try to think about what's going wrong with my swing or anything. I'll try to keep that muscle memory and be able to go in the game with it."

Napoli is hitting .389 with four homers and six RBI during the team's five game homestand.

"The way I was hitting, it wasn't helping us," Napoli said. "We've got a lot of good hitters in this lineup. We're definitely better than what we've been doing out there. Just got to keep going, keep grinding. Everyone in this clubhouse is going to do that. We know we can be a great offense, but we've got to be able to go out there and do it."

Mike Napoli contributes solo homer in Red Sox's win Tuesday
by Ted Leshinski | Staff Writer

Mike Napoli connected for a solo homer Tuesday in the Red Sox's victory over the Rangers.

Napoli went 2 for 4 with two RBI in the win.

"He's been able to identify something in his timing that seemed to play out tonight," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "The home run to the pull side on the breaking ball, that's a pitch he's been missing."

The homer was Napoli's fourth of the season.
