Bay introduced with four-year deal: Jason Bay has donned a Mets jersey and says playing for the team was always at the top of his list. The slugging left fielder was introduced by the team Tuesday. Bay completed his $66 million, four-year deal that could be worth $80 million. The contract with the Mets includes a $17 million option for 2014 with a $3 million buyout, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. Bay, a three-time All-Star, set career highs with 36 homers and 119 RBI for the Red Sox last season. The 31-year-old Bay will bring stability to a position that was manned mostly by Gary Sheffield and Daniel Murphy last season.

Fantasy Analysis
Bay will provide the Mets with much-needed pop in the middle of their order and could fit in well with Carlos Beltran and David Wright. He posted a .267-.384-.537 season with 36 home runs and 119 RBI last season. However, Fantasy owners should consider the fact he will be headed to a much less favorable hitters park. CitiField proved to be a big field, perhaps too big, for Mets hitters last season as Daniel Murphy led the team in home runs with only 12. David Wright was limited to a career-low 10 homers -- which included the 14 home runs he hit in 69 games as a rookie in 2004. Bay should still be considered a top 10 or 15 Fantasy outfielder, but the big park will keep him out of the top five at the position had he re-signed with the Red Sox or joined the Yankees.
