The Indians have officially placed outfielder Nick Swisher on the paternity list, according to MLB.com. Swisher was not in the starting lineup Tuesday against the Tigers due to "family reasons."

There's no indication from the Indians if they plan to keep him out for the maximum of three days. He's hitting .274/.382/.493 in 146 at-bats.

Indians outfielder/first baseman Nick Swisher went deep on Wednesday during a 10-4 win over Cole Hamels and the Phillies. 

Swisher took Hamels deep for a two-run blast, his sixth of the year, in the fifth inning. He finished 1 for 5 with two RBI and is batting .273. 

The 32-year-old Swisher has recorded at least one base hit in nine of his last 10 games and has three homers and six RBI over that span. He has raised his average nearly 20 percentage points over that stretch. 

Indians first baseman Nick Swisher has hit safely in six of seven games since returning from a brief absence due to a shoulder injury, with three home runs, four RBI and a .308 batting average. Alternating pretty regularly between first base and designated hitter, with the occasional outfielder appearance should help keep Swisher healthy and active.

Now that he is over his lingering shoulder issue, Fantasy owners should feel comfortable getting Swisher active.
