17 Nelson Cruz, RF

Rangers right fielder Nelson Cruz became the first member of his team to reach double-digit homers this year by hitting his 10th home run Wednesday against the A's to help lead his team to a 6-2 win. Cruz's homer came with two on in the fifth inning and was his only hit in four trips to the plate.

Last year, Cruz didn't hit his 10th home run until June 23. He has hit .264/.319/.507 in 160 plate appearances this season.

Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz was held out of the starting lineup Sunday against the Astros for just the second time in 37 games. Leonys Martin started in right field for Texas.

Cruz has homered three times and driven in seven runs in 10 May games, but he's batting .167 (6 for 36) with 10 strikeouts this month. Half of his hits in May have been home runs.

Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz hit his eighth home run Friday during a win in Houston. Cruz went deep in the sixth inning with nobody on base off Dallas Keuchel. 

Cruz went 1 for 4 in the game and is batting .269. Despite the homer, Cruz has been ice cold in May. He's gone 5 for 32 (.156), including Friday, with two homers and five RBI. He has eight Ks over that stretch. 

Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz continued his early power surge in Sunday's series finale against the Red Sox. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk in the 4-3 win.

The 32-year-old launched a two-run bomb off starter Jon Lester in the sixth inning for his sixth long ball.

Cruz has gone 3 for 16 (.188) so far in May with three RBI.
