  • Cruz racks up eight RBI vs. Blue Jays: Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz had one of the better games of his career on Friday night against the Blue Jays. He went 4 for 5 with a grand slam and eight RBI in the 14-3 win. He doubled home two in his first at-bat before leading off the fifth inning with a single. He would knock in Josh Hamilton with another base hit in the sixth before victimizing Jason Frasor for the fourth grand slam of his career in the seventh. Cruz has three home runs in May with 20 RBI. “You work almost a whole month to put up those type of RBIs,” manager Ron Washington told ESPN.com. “He did it in one night. That’s definitely what he’s capable of doing. I hope it’s something that he can continue. Maybe not drive in eight runs, but just continue to have good at-bats and good things will happen.”

    Fantasy Analysis
Cruz raised his slugging percentage from .387 to .421 on Friday and now has 31 RBI on the year. He has always been known as a streaky hitter but with a potent lineup surrounding him in Texas, the 31-year-old should continue to see plenty of chances to remain productive going forward. As long as Cruz is healthy, consider him a solid option in most Fantasy formats.
