Mariners' Robinson Cano suffers non-displaced fracture in right toe
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com

Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano was ruled out for the remainder of the Japan Series after suffering a non-displaced fracture of the pinkie toe on his right foot during the eighth inning of Saturday's game against Samurai Japan.

Cano was taken to a local hospital for X-rays immediately after being hit by a pitch, which revealed the fracture. He will be sidelined approximately 3-4 weeks before resuming baseball activities in mid-December, a source told MLB.com.

In his first season with the Mariners after signing a 10-year, $240 million contract, Cano posted a .314/.382/.454 slash line to go along with 14 home runs, 82 RBI and a career-high 10 stolen bases in 595 at-bats. He is expected to be fully recovered for spring training.

Robinson Cano delivers three-hit performance Friday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano went 3 for 5 with an RBI in his team's 10-5 win over the Astros Friday.

While his power is down from his recent seasons in New York, Cano continues to get it done at the plate. If he can finish the season with his current .321 batting average or better, it'll represent his best mark since his second major-league season in 2006. Cano has hit .321/.387/.465 with 14 home runs, 78 RBI and a career-high 10 stolen bases in 564 at-bats.
