| Knee doesn't affect Hammel in win: Orioles pitcher Jason Hammel had his knee drained earlier in the week but showed no signs of the injury on Friday night against the Royals. He worked six scoreless innings, giving up five hits while striking out seven in the 8-2 win. The right-hander threw 68 of his 104 pitches for strikes and lowered his ERA to 2.78. Hammel also walked one while picking up his sixth win of the season. (Updated 05/25/2012) |

| Fantasy Analysis |
| Hammel has been one of the more pleasant surprises in Fantasy so far this season with 53 strikeouts in 55 innings pitched and a respectable ERA. He is also on pace to post a new career high in wins and should continue to see solid run support in Balitmore. The 29-year-old could continue to deal with knee issues going forward but as long as he takes the mound, consider Hammel a viable option in deeper Fantasy formats. His next start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Blue Jays. In two starts against Toronto this season, Hammel has gone 1-0 with a 1.50 ERA. (Updated 05/25/2012). |
