| Rays re-sign Peralta: The Rays avoided arbitration with RP Joel Peralta, signing him to a one-year deal on Tuesday. According to the St. Petersburg Times, Peralta's deal is worth $2.175 million with no incentives. Peralta entered the 2011 season with a chance to become the Rays' closer, but that role eventually went to Kyle Farnsworth. He did earn six saves, along with 19 holds, posting a 2.93 ERA mostly out of a setup role. (Updated 12/20/2011) |

| Peralta will likely reprise his setup role in 2012. He is an excellent choice for owners in deeper leagues that use non-closers to fill RP slots. Peralta has very good command, so he can be a strong contributor in the ERA and WHIP categories. (Updated 12/20/2011). |
