| Olsen picked up by White Sox: The White Sox signed SP Scott Olsen to a minor league deal on Wednesday, according to ESPN.com. Olsen's deal includes a major league option for the 2013 season. Olsen did not pitch last season, as he dealt with hamstring and shoulder issues, and the Pirates released him in May. (Updated 01/25/2012) |

| Olsen has never lived up to the promise of his minor league career and 2006 rookie season. If he can turn things around and make the White Sox's rotation, Olsen would have some appeal in AL-only leagues. It is a big risk to assume that this will happen, though, so for now, owners in all formats should plan on avoiding Olsen on draft day. (Updated 01/25/2012). |
