Angels' Eric Young Jr.: Signs minor league deal with Angels
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Young agreed to a minor league contract with the Angels on Tuesday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The vast majority of Young's playing time in 2016 came at Triple-A Colorado Springs, where he slashed .263/.338/.339 over 116 games. That performance was an adequate representation of what's become expected from Young, as he's failed to demonstrate the consistent ability to hit for power or average since showing flashes of promise in 2012. While it's likely that Young will start 2017 in the minors, the possibility exists that the utility man could see occasional time with the big club if injuries become a problem for the Angels.

Eric Young Jr.: Elects to become free agent
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Young declined an outright assignment Thursday and is now a free agent.

Before being traded to the Yankees, Young spent the entirety of his season at Triple-A Colorado Springs, where he hit a mediocre .263/.338/.339. The 31-year-old has had plenty of exposure to the majors over the course of his career, as he's played in 563 games. However, he has yet to impress and owns a .246/.314/.327 line for his career.

Yankees' Eric Young Jr.: Called up by Yankees
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Young was called up by the Yankees on Friday.

The Brewers traded Young to the Yankees for cash considerations earlier in the week and the outfielder will indeed occupy a spot on New York's expanded September roster. A .247/.314/.328 career hitter at the major league level, Young posted a lackluster .263/.338/.339 line in 116 games with Triple-A Colorado Springs, but he did swipe 23 bags in 29 attempts. He may be used primarily as a pinch runner over the season's final month.

Yankees' Eric Young Jr.: Traded to Yankees
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

The Brewers traded Young to the Yankees on Wednesday in exchange for cash.

Young was not on the verge of being called up by the Brewers and was not in the team's future plans, so they decided to part with him Wednesday. It's not clear what role Young will fill with the Yankees, but he could see some time with the big league club before the season comes to a close.

Brewers' Eric Young Jr.: Assigned to Triple-A
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Eric Young was assigned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Sunday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The speedy Young put together an impressive spring training, slashing .286/.350/.371 in 40 plate appearances in Cactus League play while going a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen-base attempts. Nonetheless, it appears management liked what they saw from Keon Broxton and Kirk Nieuwenhuis a little more, forcing Young, a non-roster invitee, to bide his time in the minors until an opportunity with the big club opens up.
