Papelbon shaky for 22nd save: Boston closer Jonathan Papelbon had a shaky ninth inning on Wednesday against the A's. He regrouped and got three outs for his 22nd save of the season. Papelbon gave up two hits and a walk in the inning as a run scored but struck out two as well. His ERA is 1.89 on the year.

Fantasy Analysis

Nobody is perfect and Papelbon certainly falls under that saying. Still, closing games for the Red Sox would make anyone a solid Fantasy option and Papelbon is easily an All-Star. He remains a No. 1 Fantasy closer for all leagues.

In Wednesday's 6-5, 11-inning win over the Orioles, Papelbon got three outs for his 20th save this season and 133rd with the Red Sox, breaking the team record held by Bob Stanley. (Updated 07/02/2009)

"Obviously, it feels good," said Papelbon, who yielded the key hit in the eighth inning Tuesday in which Boston's bullpen blew a 10-1 lead before losing 11-10. "When I set out to be the closer of the Boston Red Sox, there were definitely a lot of goals in sight and this was one of them. To finally get it and get it out of my head, you know, to stop thinking about it, is definitely good for me. It's done with. Let's move on."
