by Ruben Palacios | Staff Writer

Ianetta's home run was just his second long-ball of the season, but it came in a solid 1 for 3 performance with two walks and three RBI.

Ianetta is hitting .172/.263/.276 with two home runs and nine RBI in 87 at-bats this season.

Angels C Chris Iannetta out of lineup on Wednesday vs. Blue Jays
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

Despite is recent hot hitting, Angels catcher Chris Iannetta finds himself on the bench for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays. After getting off to a dreadful start, Iannetta has started to turn things around, as he is currently riding a modest four-game hitting streak. He is 8 for 15 with a home run and five RBI in that four-game span.

Nevertheless, Carlos Perez will draw the start behind the plate, spelling Iannetta.

Angels' Chris Iannetta collects three hits, homers vs. Blue Jays
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Angels catcher Chris Iannetta went 3 for 4 with his first home run of the season in his team's 10-6 loss to the Blue Jays on Monday.

Iannetta doubled home a run in the fourth inning then slugged a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning, scoring the final run in a wild game that featured a combined 29 hits and 11 pitchers combined.

"I could see things starting to go my way," Iannetta said to MLB.com. "Normally it starts with walks, but I'm not going to walk if I'm not swinging. There's no fear to come over the plate if I'm not going to do anything with it. Guys are coming right at me, and I wasn't able to put it in play. Now it's getting a little better, so we'll see. I'm seeing it well. That's all that matters."

He has hit .156/.241/.234 with five RBI in 77 at-bats.

Angels' Chris Iannetta, Marc Krauss spur team's comeback win
by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer

With the Angels down 1-0 in the top of the seventh in Saturday's game against the Orioles, the Halos took the lead thanks to some unlikely heroes.

Catcher Chris Iannetta and designated hitter Marc Krauss had back-to-back RBI singles in the seventh to give the Angels a 2-1 lead. They would add to that and defeated the Orioles by a score of 6-1.

Iannetta had a pair of singles on the evening and brought his season average up to .123 and he also scored a run.

Krauss' single was his only hit in three at-bats, but it brought in the go-ahead run. It was his first hit and RBI since being added to the roster on Tuesday.

Angels' Carlos Perez settling in to starting role
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Angels catcher Carlos Perez started for the sixth time in an eight-game span on Wednesday and went 1 for 4 at the plate, making him 7 for 22 with one home run and four RBI since joining the major-league roster.

"Any time a player plays well, you're going to earn more playing time," manager Mike Scioscia said before Wednesday's game, per MLB.com. "That's what Carlos has shown."

Chris Iannetta had a batting average below .100 at the time Perez was called up and has hit just .101/.203/.116 in 69 at-bats.

"Chris understands the start he got off to, he understands the need for us to get a little bit of production behind the plate, and he also understands how well Carlos has played when he's been out there," Scioscia said. "Chris has confidence in the way he can play, and hopefully we're going to see some signs of it when he gets his opportunity."

While Scioscia indicated that "we're going to need them both," Perez appears to be settling into a regular role while he continues to produce at the plate.
