| Schmidt still on open market: Three-time All-Star hurler Jason Schmidt remains a free agent and there has been no recent news regarding any developments in his signing with any teams. Schmidt is 37 years old and coming off four appearances with the Dodgers last season after missing the better part of three seasons because of a shoulder injury. (Updated 02/24/2010) |

| Schmidt went 2-2 last year in four starts with a 5.60 ERA and a 1.59 WHIP. Considering his age, his arm troubles and his numbers in limited action since 2006, we find it hard to believe any team would give him anything more than a minor-league deal.
