Guerrero 'good to go,' will return to right field for Angels

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Vladimir Guerrero was set to start in right field for the Los Angeles Angels against the Boston Red Sox in Sunday's Game 3 of the American League Division Series.

Guerrero left Friday's 6-3 loss in the eighth inning after being hit by a pitch on his left shoulder. The slugger had treatment and tests on Saturday.

"He's a little stiff, but it will loosen up once he gets out there and takes some batting practice," manager Mike Scioscia said Sunday. "He's good to go."

Guerrero started in right field Friday for the first time since Sept. 4 after an irritated right triceps had limited him to designated hitter duties.

Juan Rivera was to be the Angels' designated hitter Sunday, while Kendry Morales replaced Casey Kotchman at first base. Rivera was a pinch-hitter in Game 3.

Kotchman had a non-baseball-related medical condition and was not available, Scioscia said.

The rest of the Angels' lineup remained the same.
