CINCINNATI -- The Cleveland Indians sent left-handed starter Jeremy Sowers back to Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday and called up infielder Michael Aubrey to make his big-league debut.
Sowers was promoted from Buffalo to make a spot start Friday night. He gave up three runs in five innings of a 4-3 loss to the Cincinnati Reds, getting no decision.
Aubrey was Cleveland's first-round pick in the June 2003 draft. He started the season at Double-A Akron, hitting .277 with a pair of homers in 24 games.
The Indians moved him up to Triple-A on May 2, and he batted .341 in 11 games.
