Tigers' Ordonez goes 1-for-4 in Class-A rehab start

Presented by Epson

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Tigers outfielder Magglio Ordonez was 1-for-4 with a run scored in a rehabilitation appearance with the Class-A West Michigan Whitecaps on Monday night.

He singled, reached base on a fielding error, popped out and grounded out in the Whitecaps' 10-2 win over Peoria.

Ordonez is on the 15-day disabled list for a strained oblique muscle in his abdomen.

The Tigers say he could return when Detroit resumes play Thursday at Baltimore.

Ordonez is hitting .307 for Detroit with 12 home runs and 50 RBI. He hit .363 last season and won the AL batting title.
