Tulowitzki plays seven innings in rehab appearance

TULSA, Okla. -- Troy Tulowitzki played seven innings at shortstop during a rehabilitation stint game with the Colorado Rockies' Double-A affiliate in Tulsa.

Tulowitzki, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list July 7, had a single in four at-bats for the Tulsa Drillers in a 4-3 loss to the Springfield Cardinals on Wednesday night. He is expected to remain with the Drillers for several more days.

Only three weeks after returning from a torn thigh tendon that cost him 46 games earlier this season, the Rockies' shortstop sliced his right palm when he pounded his maple bat into the ground in frustration and it shattered on July 4.

Tulowitzki required 16 stitches, but he said doctors told him the shards of wood that cut into his right hand didn't damage any tendons or nerves.
