White Sox claim Jimenez off waivers from Blue Jays

CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox claimed right-handed reliever Kelvin Jimenez off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.

The 28-year-old Jimenez posted a 5.63 ERA in 15 appearances for the St. Louis Cardinals last season. He spent most of the season with Triple-A Memphis in the Cardinals' system, going 1-6 with a 2.92 ERA and 12 saves in 46 relief appearances.

Jimenez, who'd been claimed by Toronto on waivers on Nov. 3, will be added to Chicago's 40-man roster.
