Infielder D'Antona let go by D-Backs, likely headed to Japan

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday released infielder Jamie D'Antona, who is expected to sign with the Tokyo Yakult Swallows of Japan's Central League.

D'Antona made his major league debut on July 22, getting a pinch-hit single in his first career at-bat against the Cubs' Sean Marshall at Chase Field. He hit .176 (3-for-17) with an RBI in 18 games for Arizona last season.
