ARLINGTON, Texas -- Pitcher Doug Mathis stayed with the Texas Rangers, agreeing Monday to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 25-year-old right-hander went 2-1 with a 6.85 ERA in four starts and four seasons with Texas last season, cut short due to right shoulder inflammation.
He was 5-1 with a 3.35 ERA in 10 games for Triple-A Oklahoma.
