ZION, Ill. -- The "Field of Dreams" is coming to Illinois.
Actor and baseball lover Kevin Costner says he's chosen the northeastern Illinois town of Zion as the location for a new minor league team.
The team will be part of the Northern League in 2010. Officials didn't announce the team's name or the location of the new 8,000-seat stadium in Lake County. Costner is part of the baseball ownership group.
Costner says Zion is the ideal spot because of its "quaint and affordable setting." State officials say the project will bring 300 jobs to the community of 25,000.
Costner acted in the baseball films Bull Durham and Field of Dreams in the 1980s.
