Yankees' Posada back behind plate, hitting sixth

NEW YORK -- New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada returned to the starting lineup after missing time with a sore left thumb.

Posada was hit by a foul ball in Wednesday night's 4-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners. He struck out as a pinch hitter Thursday and sat out Friday's 4-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

"I'm a little concerned if it gets banged again," manager Joe Girardi said. "But if he doesn't get any foul tips and catches everything cleanly you would think that he would be OK."

Posada hit sixth for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays. He enters with a .267 batting average, 10 homers and 33 RBI.
