ATLANTA -- Braves third baseman Chipper Jones was a late addition to Atlanta's lineup Friday night, returning after missing the last four games with a strained groin.
Atlanta manager Bobby Cox decided Jones was ready to play against the Phillies after he took batting practice and reported no problems.
Jones, who began the game hitting just .133 in his last 83 at-bats, was not in the original lineup. The Braves are 15-11 in games that Jones, the 1999 National League MVP and 2008 batting champion, has not started this season.
