Man says he found financial documents in Yanks parade confetti

NEW YORK -- New York City office workers who got carried away during the Yankees victory parade apparently began tossing files and documents out the window when they couldn't get their hands on confetti.

Auditor Damian Salo attended the Manhattan parade. He tells the New York Post he found all sorts of personal financial documents in the mountains of shredded paper tossed from skyscrapers as the players rode up Broadway.

They included pay stubs, banking data, law firm memos and even some court files.

The founder of one financial firm says it reprimanded an "overzealous" employee for throwing records out the window that should have been shredded.

Ticker-tape parades on Broadway are a tradition for champion New York sports teams.

I mean no cars get flipped, no one gets hurt or god forbid dies.  This was 1 stupid fan out of how many? Yes there were probably other "stupid" fans... but the fact that there was no rioting, and no one hurt, I'll say that they had to "find" something negative about the parade.  And all fans (most who hate Yankee ...(more)

This may be the biggest non-story I have ever read......

I am a Red Sox fan, but congrats to the Yanks for a well-earned World Series.

He was probably a disgruntled St Louis Cardinal fan who had to come to New York to find a job. Throwing out the papers in bundles without shredding, is obviously an attempt to hurt. Just another loser with no way to respond except violence.

New Yorkers have confetti parades. Many other cities usually hold a riot.

The story fails to mention that the employee "in question" used to work for Bernie Madoff, Enron, WorldCom and Tyco. He should have done a better job at shredding the documents. I find it absolutely ridiculous that office workers can actually throw paper out the window. I thought the windows were sealed to prevent suicides. I suppose flinging a stack of confidential papers out the window ...(more)
