Pirates recall red-hot outfield prospect Tabata, pitcher Lincoln

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Pirates have recalled their top outfield prospect, Jose Tabata, after he batted .308 with three home runs and 25 stolen bases at Triple-A Indianapolis.

The team's top pitching prospect, right-hander Brad Lincoln, was called up from Triple-A following Tuesday night's game in Washington and will start Wednesday night against the Nationals.

Second baseman Neil Walker has become a starter since his May 25 recall, meaning three of Pittsburgh's top four prospects have been brought up since the season began. Third baseman Pedro Alvarez, the No. 2 pick in the 2008 draft, remains at Indianapolis.

First baseman Jeff Clement was optioned to Indianapolis to make room for Tabata.
