Marlins recall righty Sanabia, lefty Miller from minors
PITTSBURGH -- The Florida Marlins have recalled right-hander Alex Sanabia from Triple-A New Orleans to start Thursday night in Pittsburgh.
Left-hander Sean West was scheduled to start, but was scratched due to right knee inflammation. Sanabia, a rookie, was 1-1 with a 4.63 ERA in seven games, four starts, earlier this season with Florida.
The Marlins recalled left-hander Andrew Miller from Double-A Jacksonville and optioned Taylor Tankersley to its top farm club.
Miller was 14-21 in 70 games with Detroit and Florida from 2007-09. He was 1-8 with a 6.01 ERA in 18 games at Jacksonville after signing a $1.79 million contract with Florida.
Tankersley was 0-0 with a 7.50 ERA in 27 games.
