Miner a free agent after Tigers don't make offer
DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers won't offer right-hander Zach Miner a contract, making him a free agent.
The team announced the decision Thursday, three days after it designated him for assignment.
Miner didn't play last season and had surgery on his right elbow in May. He was 25-20 with a 4.24 ERA in 157 appearances, including 35 starts, over four seasons with the Tigers.
