MRI on elbow of Indians' Carrasco negative; may not miss start

CBSSports.com wire reports

CLEVELAND -- An MRI on Indians right-hander Carlos Carrasco's elbow did not show any structural damage, and there is still a chance he'll make his scheduled start Saturday.

Carrasco left his start on Sunday in Minnesota after three innings with elbow tightness. He's relieved that the MRI came back negative. Carrasco will throw 30 to 35 pitches in the bullpen on Wednesday, and as long as that goes well and he doesn't have any soreness, he will pitch Saturday against Detroit.

Indians manager Manny Acta was "very relieved" the tests on Carrasco were normal. He was expecting him to go on the disabled list. Acta says the club will be careful with Carrasco.

The club has already had to place starter Mitch Talbot on the DL with a strained elbow.
