Twins place Perkins on DL, recall LHP Hughes
PHOENIX -- The Minnesota Twins have placed left-handed reliever Glen Perkins on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained right oblique.
The Twins recalled left-hander Dusty Hughes on Sunday from Triple-A Rochester to take Perkins' roster spot. Perkins, 0-1 with a team-best 1.59 ERA in 22 appearances, was injured in the eighth inning of the Twins' 9-6 loss to Arizona on Saturday night.
Hughes began the season with Minnesota, going 1-0 with a 10.13 ERA in 12 appearances. He was optioned to Rochester on May 6, where he had a 5.06 ERA in five appearances.
