Indians' Carmona on DL, having more tests on right leg

CBSSports.com wire reports

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Indians starter Fausto Carmona is undergoing more medical tests on the right leg muscle he injured clumsily running to first base.

Carmona strained a thigh muscle on Saturday in Cincinnati when he tripped and fell hard over the base while trying to beat out a bunt in the third inning. The awkward tumble and injury led to the Indians placing him on the 15-day disabled Sunday.

Manager Manny Acta said Carmona had an MRI on Monday and that the would provide results following its series opener against the New York Yankees.

The Indians' opening day starter, Carmona has struggled all season. The right-hander is 4-10 with a 5.78 ERA, and has lost seven of his past eight starts.
