Yankees' Pena has appendectomy, Laird recalled
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- New York Yankees infielder Ramiro Pena has had an appendectomy.
The operation took place Monday, and Pena was placed on the 15-day disabled list.
Infielder Brandon Laird was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
