M's recall Lueke to help depleted bullpen, option Seager

CBSSports.com wire reports

TORONTO -- The Seattle Mariners recalled right-hander Josh Lueke from Triple-A Tacoma before Thursday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays and optioned infielder Kyle Seager to Triple-A.

Mired in a season-long 11-game losing streak, the Mariners needed help for their bullpen after seven relievers combined to work 12 1/3 innings in the previous two days, including Tuesday's 14-inning defeat.

Lueke made his major-league debut with Seattle in April, going 1-1 with a 17.05 in eight relief appearances.

Seager, another rookie who made his debut this month, appeared in seven games for the Mariners, hitting .136.
