Rays put backup outfielder Ruggiano on DL
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The Tampa Bay Rays have placed backup outfielder Justin Ruggiano on the 15-day disabled list because of left knee bursitis and recalled shortstop Reid Brignac from Triple-A Durham.
The moves were made before Wednesday night's game against Kansas City.
Tampa Bay also promoted shortstop Tim Beckman, selected first overall in the 2008 amateur draft, from Double-A Montgomery to Durham.
