D-Backs' Duke, Hill, Marquise, three others become FAs
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have exercised the mutual options on catcher Henry Blanco and infielder Willie Bloomquist, while declining options on left-hander Zach Duke and second baseman Aaron Hill.
Right-handed pitcher Jason Marquis and infielders John McDonald, Xavier Nady and Lyle Overbay became free agents Sunday.
Blanco's option was $1.15 million with a $250,000 buyout and Bloomquist's was $1.1 million with a $750,000 buyout. Both players can reject their end of the options and forfeit the buyouts on Tuesday.
Duke's option was for $5.5 million with a $750,000 buyout.
