--SS Jose Reyes officially became a free agent November 3, free to talk to any team. The Mets and Reyes both insist that they are interested in bringing him back to New York, but he is going to listen to offers.
--INF Daniel Murphy is expected to be healthy for spring training, but he probably won't have a position. Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said he expects Murphy to be a jack-of-all-trades without a true position.
--RHP Dillon Gee is representing the Mets on the Major League Baseball All-Star tour of Taiwan. Through Nov. 3 he had yet to appear in a game.
--1B Ike Davis has been working out in Arizona, and Mets GM Sandy Alderson said he still expects Davis to be ready for spring training after opting not to have surgery on his bruised bone in his left ankle.
--Chad McDonald, the Mets' director of amateur scouting, is leaving the team after one year to join the Padres. McDonald oversaw the 2011 first-year player draft and was responsible for top pick Brandon Nimmo.
BY THE NUMBERS
11 -- Projected home run differential the Mets came up with when they did a study of the planned stadium dimensions -- alterations from the first three years of Citi Field. They concluded that with the new plan they would have hit 81 more home runs and surrendered 70 more.
