Loney won't face charges for Highway 101 accident
--1B James Loney will not face criminal charges stemming from a Nov. 14 auto accident in which the Dodgers first baseman crashed into multiple cars on the Highway 101 in Los Angeles. Loney was arrested at the scene on suspicion of DUI, but when toxicology reports came back negative, the Los Angeles city attorney's office cited insufficient evidence to proceed with the case.
--LHP Clayton Kershaw and OF Matt Kemp were honored at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum's Legacy Awards ceremony in Kansas City. Kershaw was recognized as the National League recipient of the Bullet Rogan Award as the pitcher of the year in the senior circuit, while Kemp captured the Oscar Charleston Award as the most valuable player in the NL.
--RHP Kenley Jansen, RHP Javy Guerra, RHP Nathan Eovaldi, LHP Scott Elbert, LHP Chris Capuano, RHP Chris Withrow, and RHP Rubby De La Rosa were among the Dodgers to take part in the third annual Dodgers' pitchers minicamp at the club's spring training complex at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz. The camp took place three weeks before pitchers and catchers are required to report to spring training, on Feb. 21.
--Vin Scully, the legendary Dodgers announcer about to embark on his 63rd season with the team, was honored by the Southern California Sports Broadcasters as the best radio play-by-play announcer for the 13th time in the 21-year history of the award. Fellow Dodgers announcer Rick Monday was selected the best radio color commentator by the Southern California Sports Broadcasters.
--The Dodgers and Chicago White Sox will play an exhibition game during spring training at Kino Veterans Memorial Stadium in Tucson, Ariz., on Friday, March 23. All proceeds from the game will benefit the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation, to benefit victims and families affected by the events of Jan. 8, 2011. Christina-Taylor Green, 9, was one of six people killed by a gunman the day Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was critically wound, was the daughter of Dodgers scout and national cross-checker John Green.
