Our long wait is finally over.
It has been about five months and five days since that 27th out nestled into Allen Craig's glove in Game 7 of the epic 2011 World Series. Yes, there have been two real games since then, but those were in the wee hours of the morning and not even on TV for many fans. So while those games most certainly matter, it's hard to think of them as being the actual start of the baseball season -- especially since the A's and Mariners returned home to play some more exhibition games. By the end of this week, though, all 30 teams will have a series under their belt.
Since last time I ranked the teams, there have only been those two games in Japan. Any ranking shuffling will be due to injuries or "upon further review" type stuff on my part. No need to explain those, so instead let's look back at the offseason. In the free agency, 24/7 news cycle era, the offseason is almost like a season in and of itself. We've heard plenty about all the big moves, but some things fall through the cracks, whether good, bad, funny or weird. Let's take a look at one per team.
